Choosing a Pair of Scuba Diving Flippers
|
You can call them fins or scuba diving flippers. They are worn on the feet of a Scuba Diver to help swimming at the surface and underwater. Scuba divers have a diverse selection to select from.
Today's high tech swim fins are a real miracle of engineering and the physics of pushing underwater. Using modern mathematics and Computer Aided Design techniques, most types of scuba diving fins produce very little resemblance to the every day full blade or paddle scuba diving flippers. These strongly angled or split style fins have been planned to maximize efficiency and slip the scuba diver under the water with very little effort, thus increasing length of time underwater. But the best estimate of how well a scuba fin works is not its design or effectiveness, but its comfort - even the best designed scuba fins won't be worth getting if you are not comfortable diving in them.
Whether the every day blade or peddle style, or the more progressive cut out and split versions, no matter what the design, scuba diving flippers are essentially divided into these two categories, "Full Foot" or "Open Heel.

Cycling in the Florida Keys
|
It's been said that the Florida Keys have something for everyone. Fishing, diving, snorkeling, boating and really anything else that involves the ocean draws millions of visitors per year. The year-round warm weather and water also help the Keys stay a popular tourist destination. As a lifelong cyclist, Ive found that they one thing the Florida Keys dont offer is good cycling.
Long distance riders
Aside from the obvious challenges of long-distance riding (sweat, tears, sunburn), the Florida Keys arent very bike-friendly for the endurance cyclist. For the most part, the more densely-populated Keys are equipped with poorly maintained sidewalks or small shoulders on the side of the road. The shoulders usually contain potholes or rocks which dont make for a smooth ride when cruising with thin tires. In between Keys and on the smaller Keys, the bike lanes and shoulders usually disappear altogether. If you dont mind cars buzzing by you on the Overseas Highway, then you may have a fine time when trekking from Miami down to Key West (about 120 miles).

Diving Safety
|
One of the best pool safety features of all is a properly installed, quality diving board. Last year there were more than one billion dives from diving boards at residential in-ground swimming pools, and none resulted in serious accident or injury when pools met the ANSI/NSPI-5 Standard . This safety record has been ongoing for a number of years.
The presence of a diving board lets everyone know immediately that a deep water area exists, and that is where all diving should be conducted. Diving in shallow water, less than six feet deep can be dangerous. A diving board directs children and adults away from shallow areas that are unsafe for diving, keeping diving to the deep end of the pool, where diving is safe and fun. Visit www.1800pools.com
Safe diving follows these common sense rules:
# Dive only from the end of a diving board and not from the sides.
# Know the water depth and plan your dive path.
# Always make a shallow, controlled dive, holding your head and arms up, back arched and steering with your hands.
# Don't run and dive.
# Do not dive into shallow water.

Planning Your Caribbean Wedding
|
Each year, more and more couples in the United States decide to take unconventional approaches in getting married. Its not out of the ordinary to hear about a couple who tied-the-knot under water while SCUBA diving in the Caribbean, or to hear about a couple who took-the-plunge while on a hot air balloon ride drifting high above the city streets in Paris. So why do so many couples decide to make travel part of their wedding experience?
First of all, Americans love to travel. And what better way to enjoy a new exotic location than with 50 family members and close friends celebrating your big day. Incorporating travel into a wedding is really a great way to make that special day the memorable experience that you have long dreamed about. And besides, there may be no better way to encourage close family and friends to actually show up for wedding than to hold in on an exotic island in the Caribbean.
Second, your honeymoon is built-in to the wedding. Once the wedding ceremony ends, the fun part, your honeymoon, begins. No need to deal with messy travel arrangements and hassles after the ceremony;
